台北のジャスト・スリープ・シーメンディン（捷絲旅 西門町館）からMRT台北車駅（MRT Taipei Main Station、台北車站）へ向かって漢口街一段（Sec1, Han Kou St.）歩いていると、突如、カメラ屋が軒を連ねる通りに出ました。思わず持っていたカメラでぱちり。

さらに重慶南路一段（Chungking South Road, Section 1）を歩くと、今度は本屋街になりました。

お目当ての物を探している場合、同じ業種が一箇所に集まっているのは、便利です。

When we walked from Just Sleep Ximending for MRT Taipei Main Station（台北車站）, we found many camera shops in one street. We took some pictures !

And after arriving at Chungking South Road, Section 1, many bookshops are on either side of the road.

Same industry street is convenient for shopping.

How To ジャンセイロン、プーケット - How To JUNGCEYLON, Phuket

ブルー・オーシャン・リゾート・プーケットから徒歩15分。バンコクの繁華街の雰囲気が好きな人なら、きっと好きになるのがパトンビーチのショッピングモール「ジャンセイロン（JUNGCEYLON）」です。店名は、かつてプーケット近海がポルトガル領だった時に呼ばれていたプーケット島の呼称です。

中は大きく４つのゾーンに分かれていますが、旅行者がおさえておくべきポイントを挙げましょう。

• ファーストフード、レストランがあるのは1階です。ケンタッキー、スタバ、デイリークイーン、サブウェイ、バーガーキング、スウェセンズ等入っています。
• タイスキのMK、和食のFUJIは、夕方〜夜ははんぱなく混みます。行くなら、夕方早い時刻、または昼間がベターです。
• タイアロマショップ、ハーン（HARRN）が１階に入っています。プーケット空港免税店売り場にもHARRNはありますが、ジャンセイロンのほうが品揃えが豊富です。
• １階に、ドラッグストア、ブーツ（Boots）があり、症状を言うと抗生物質を買えます。
• デパートのロビンソン、スーパーマーケットのビッグCが入っています。お土産もたくさん売っています。
• 地下１階にフードコートがありますが、高くてまずいです。地下１階に、フットマッサージショップ、またお土産屋がたくさんあり、これらはおすすめ。
• ３階に携帯電話屋がずらりと並んでいます。現地のSIMが買えます。英語がけっこう通じます。
• ジャンセイロン前に客待ちのトゥクトゥクが停まっています。彼らは協定を結んでいて、値段交渉しても絶対下がりません。どのトゥクトゥクも料金は同じなので、空いているのに乗っちゃったほうがベターです。

If you like Bangkok's downtown, you would like "JUNGCEYLON", a big shopping mall in Patong Beach, 15 minutes' walking from Blue Ocean Resort Phuket. When Phuket Sea was colonized by Portugal before, the Phuket Island was called "jung ceylon".

The mall is divided into 4 zones. Here are the points for foreign travelers:

• Restaurant and fast food shops are located on the ground floor, like Kentucky, Starbucks, Daily Queen, Subway, Burger King, Swensen's and so on.
• MK, a Thai Suki food, and Fuji, a Japanese food, are very crowded at the night. Daytime and early evening are better.
• Harrn, a Thai aroma shop, is located on the ground floor. Jungceylon branch is stocked better than Phuket Airport branch.
• You can buy antibiotic drug at Boots, a drugstore.
• You can buy local souvenir at Robinson, a department store, and Big C, a local super market.
• You better avoid a food court on the underground floor, because it's expensive, and not so delicious. Foot massage shop and souvenir shops are good.
• You can buy mobile phone and the SIM on the 3rd floors.
• Many Tuk-Tuk wait in the front road. You cannot do the price negotiation because all drivers conclude an agreement about the transfer fee. So, it's better that you just get on the closer Tuk-Tuk.

BTSプルンチットの足裏マッサージ〜プルンチット・ハタサート - Ploengit Hatthasart - Foot Mssage at BTS Phloen Chit

プルンチット・ハタサートはタイ式足裏マッサージの店です。ザ・オークラ・プレステージ・バンコクのあるBTSプルンチットの４番出口からすぐ、雑居ビルの２階にあります。

かなり痛いですが、強烈に効きます。

Ploengit Hatthasart is a foot massage shop, located on the 2nd floor of small building, from No. 4 exit of BTS Phloen Chit where The Okura Prestige Bangkok stands in.

The massage is very strong, but the masseurs take tiredness from your feet very well.

デュシット・プリンセス・シーナカリン・バンコクのレセプションカウンターに、老眼鏡が置いてありました。さりげなくお年寄りに便利なサービスです。

Dusit Princess Srinakarin Bangkok offers a reading glasses at the reception counter. It's not so fancy, but convenient.

老舗インドネシア食堂〜ワルン・ジョグジャ - Warung Yogya - Local Indonesian restaurant

ザ・ロサリ・ホテル＆ヴィラズから徒歩５分の所にあるワルンジョグジャは、あまり清潔とはいえませんが、ワルンの少ないレギャンビーチで、貴重なローカル料理の食堂です。

ナシゴレン、ミーゴレン、アヤム・ゴレンなど、定番のインドネシア料理があり、中でもおすすめはピーナッツソースがけのサラダ、ガドガドです。茹でた野菜がたっぷり入って体によさそう。なぜか女性客は皆ソト・アヤムを注文しています。

この店は、値段が安い割に一皿の量が多いので、少なめに注文するのがベターです。

In Legian area, Warung, local food restaurant, is not so many. Warung Yogya is 5 minute's walk from The Losari Hotel & Villas.

The restaurant is not so clean. But you can enjoy standard Indonesian foods, like Nasi Goren, Mie Goren and Ayam Goreng. My recommendation is Gado-Gado, a boiled vegetable with sweet peanuts sauce. I don't know why many female guests eat Soto-Ayam, a soup with chicken.

The food is very cheap, but the portion is very big. So when you order, you need to choose the menu carefully.

オーチャードロードで安食堂が集まるカッページプラザ - Many cheap restaurants at Cuppage Plaza in Orchard Road

オーチャードロード沿いのショッピングモールやデパートには、レストランがテナントとして入っているビルも数多くありますが、洒落たレストランが多く、そうしたところは料金も高くなります。ショッピング街のため、シンガポールで有名なホーカーセンターもほとんどありません。

そんな中、オーチャードで、普通に軽く食べたり飲んだりする所として便利なのがカッページ・プラザです。

オーチャード道路から少し奥まったビルに、ずらりと食堂街が並びます。雰囲気的には、昔の秋葉原の駅前食堂や池袋の地下道フードコートの感じ（笑）。まったくもってお洒落ではないけれど、一人旅だったり、軽くビール一杯ひっかけたりするのに便利です。「王将」など、けっこう和食のレストランも多いです。

ホテル・シュープリーム・シンガポールからも近く地元のシンガポール人もたくさん利用しています。

In Orchard Road, many shopping arcades and department stores offer many restaurants. But such restaurants are usually swanky. And the price is little bit expensive. Hawker Center is seldom in this road.

So you try Cuppage Plaza.

This building behind Orchard Road offers many casual restaurants. The atmosphere is like food stalls. Don't go to this building with formal clothes. But if you are a solo traveler, or if you want to just drink a beer, these small restaurants are useful. And also, you can eat at many Japanese restaurants, like "Ohsho", a very famous Japanese dumpling restaurant.

Cuppage Plaza is very close from Hotel Supreme Singapore. Many Singaporean visit this building.

西門町のデルタ - "Delta" in Ximending

「Delta」は、ストリート系の店です。品数はそれほど多くないものの、ナウでヤングな若人達の町として知られる西門町の中でも、かなりとんがった店です。

西門町では、ザ・ロングステイ・ホテルもそうですが、店のほとんどはMRT西門駅近くにあります。しかし駅近くは地価が高いためか、最近オープンする店は駅から離れた場所になるようです。このDeltaも駅から離れた場所にあり、見ると周りに似たようなおしゃれな店がちらほらオープンしていました。

"Delta" is a street fashion shop. The items are not so many. But the atmosphere is very cool in Ximending, famous for young trend town.

In Ximending, almost all shops including The Longstay Hotel, are close to MRT Ximen station (MRT西門站). But the price of the land close to the station is expensive. So recently new cool shops are opened far from the station.

パトンビーチを見渡すお手頃価格タイレストラン - Cheap Thai food restaurant overlooking Patong Beach

パトンビーチには、海を見ながら食事ができるレストランが意外に少なく、またあっても料金が高いところがほとんどです。イッサラ・リゾートのようなスーパーエコノミーホテルに泊まっているなら、もっとお手頃価格で小粋なレストランに行くのが、かっこいい旅のスタイルです。

このAB ZEB（ส้มตำริมผา、エブサップ）は、地元タイ人も訪れるタイ料理レストラン＆カフェです。

店の１階は入り口のみで、そこから階段を下りると、カラフルなテーブルの並んだフロアがあります。そこからさらに階段を下りると、サラ風の高床式テーブルが並びます。高床式テーブルのほうは、あまりきれいでないので、カラフルテーブルのほうがおすすめ。

肝心の料理の味は、可もなく不可もなく（笑）。とびっきり美味しいというわけではないけれど、イサーン料理はしっかり辛く、お値段が安いのがうれしい。なによりテーブルからは目の前に海を眺めることができ潮風が幸せです。

場所はパトンビーチ（カリムビーチ）からカマラビーチへ向かう坂の途中。目印は白い壁です。今度は夕日の時間帯に行ってみたいなあ。

Sea view restaurants are not so many in Patong Beach. And such restaurants are very expensive. If you stay at a super economical hotel like Issara Resort, CHECKINASIA staff recommend AB ZEB (ส้มตำริมผา) Thai restaurant where many local people visit.

Ground floor is the entrance floor. When you go downstairs, you can see the colorful tables. And you go downstairs more, you can see Sala style table. Sala tables are not clean. So colorful tables are better.

* Sala is Thai style gazebo.

The food is not so good, but not so bad (^^;. Spicy Isaan food is affordable. You can enjoy a panoramic Patong beach with relaxing sea breeze.

The place is on the way to Kamala Beach, after Paton Beach (Kalim Beach). You go for a white wall as a mark. Please visit on sunset time.

スミニャックの中心にあるスミニャック・スクウェア - Seminyak Square - Famous shopping complex in Seminyak area

ザ・スラ・バンガローの目の前にスミニャック・スクウェアというショッピング・アーケードがあります。

レストラン、服飾店等、複数のテナントが入っており、特にカフェが多いので、スミニャックエリアで買い物をしている途中、休憩するのに便利です。

カフェの中に、ブラック・キャニオン・コーヒーというタイ資本の喫茶店が入っていて、バンコクと同じ味を楽しめます。

スミニャックスクウェアでは週末、地元外国人によるバザーが定期的に行われます。出店が出るので、普段と違った雰囲気が楽しめます。

Seminyak Square is located in front of The Sura Bungalows.

This big shopping arcade offers some restaurants, clothes shop and so on. When you are tired from shopping in this area, you can take a rest at some cafes.

BLACK CANYON COFFEE, one of the cafes, comes from Thailand. You can enjoy the same taste of Bangkok's coffee.

Sometimes, the arcade holds a charity bazaar at the weekend. You can enjoy some food stalls and others.

シーナカリンのイサーン料理レストラン「ラン・ガイ・バーン・ヤン・カオ・スアン・クワン（グリルチキンの店）」 - Lan Gai Baan Yang Kao Suan Kwang for Grilled Chiken at Srinakarin

シーナカリンにある有名なイサーン料理の店です。デュシット・プリンセス・シーナカリン・バンコクから車で７分ほどの場所にあります。

おすすめはガイ・ヤーン（グリルチキン）。店のすぐ裏で、ガスではなく火鉢を使って焼いているので、肉が固くなくジューシー。他にもたくさんのタイ料理があります。メニューは写真付きで、英語も併記されているので指さしでオーケー。なんといっても料金が地元価格なのがうれしいです。

アマチュアミュージシャンによるライブ演奏も行われるなど、店内いたってのんびりとした雰囲気。おすすめは屋外席。夜になるとたくさんの地元タイ人が、星空のもとタイ料理をほおばっています。

空港からバンコク市内に向かう途中、渋滞に巻き込まれたら、ここで夕食を食べてみてはどうでしょう。人生、時には寄り道も必要です。

This is a famous Thai Isaan restaurant in Srinakarin. It takes only 7 minutes from Dusit Princess Srinakarin Bangkok by car.

The most popular menu is Gai Yang, Thai grilled chicken. They don't use gas for cooking. Chickens are grilled by a charcoal brazier. So it's not hard, and juicy.

You can also order many Thai foods with English-written menu with pictures. The local price is welcomed.

The relaxing restaurant sometimes offers a live performance by the amateur musician. I recommend you the outside table. At night, many Thai people enjoy delicious foods under the stars.

On the way from the airport to the center of the city, if you encounter traffic jam, you can enjoy spicy Thai foods at this restaurant for your break. Enjoy your long life !

スミニャックの絶景バー「SOS」 - Superb view at SOS bar

アナンタラ・スミニャック・バリ・リゾート＆スパの屋上にあるバー＆レストランです。オープン当初地域住民の反対にあい、一時閉鎖しましたが、復活してまたたくさんのお客さんが来るようになりました。

スミニャックにあるオンザビーチのバーやレストランはほとんどが地上にありますが、このSOSは、珍しく高い位置にあるので、眺めがはんぱなく爽快です。

座席は主に、オーシャンフロントソファ、屋根付き屋内席、屋根無し屋外席、バーカウンターの４つがあり、人気は海を真正面に見るオーシャンフロントソファです。

おすすめの時間帯は夕暮れが始まる18時以降。非常に混むので、予約必須です。どうしても予約がとれない場合、ドリンクのみよりも食事のほうが優先されるので、ディナーとして予約を入れると、良い席をゲットできますよ。

長くいると肌寒いので、羽織るものがあるとよいでしょう。

"SOS" is the bar & restaurant of Anantara Seminyak Bali Resort & Spa. The bar was closed for a while after the opening, because local people insisted their building-code violation. But after their re-opening, now many people visit.

Almost all bar and restaurant in Seminyak are located on the ground. But this bar is on the rooftop, so the view is very great.

Tables are 4 kinds, of an ocean front sofa seat (mostly popular), the indoor table with a roof, an outdoor table without a roof and a bar counter.

The recommended time is after 6:00 PM, when sunset starts. In this time, it's very crowded, so you must book. At SOS, the booking for eating is prior to the booking only for drinking. So, if you cannot make a booking, you had better dine at this restaurant.

The rooftop is very windy. So, I recommend you bring your jacket or gown.

シンガポール大戸屋で家庭料理を - Authentic Japanese home cuisine by Ootoya

But almost all Japanese people eat such expensive food only in some special occasion. We, Japanese people, eat Japanese home-style dishes every day. The price is reasonable and the taste is more popular.

For a business, home-cooked meal is difficult because the cost is very cheap. So such Japanese home cooking is very seldom in foreign countries.

"Ootoya（大戸屋）" at Orchard Central department store offers Japanese home cuisine. This is very famous Japanese home-style restaurant. The taste is same with Japanese based restaurants'. The price is a bit more expensive than Japan. But many Japanese living in Singapore visit this nice restaurant.

Just only 5 minutes' walking from Concorde Hotel Singapore. Please try "authentic Japanese home cuisine" !

How to Siam Discovery - サイアムディスカバリーの歩き方

When you cross the pedestrian bridge from Holiday Inn Express Bangkok Siam, you can find Siam Discovery at the intersection corner. This shopping mall offers many design and art shops like furniture, bag, stationary, small things and so on.

You can find your own cool souvenir at Propaganda, Good Job, Loft and so on.

For clothing, DIESEL and REPLAY at Siam Discovery are most fully stocked in Bangkok.

If you want to meet your friends, Starbucks on the 4th floor is recommended. Because there is no good cafe for meeting on the roadside of Siam Discovery, Siam Center and Siam Paragon. The connecting bridge to Siam Center is located in front of this Starbucks, so your friend can come to Siam Discovery easily from Siam Center and Siam Paragon.

ホリデイ・イン・エクスプレス・バンコク・サイアムから歩道橋を渡ってすぐの交差点角にあるサイアムディスカバリーは、デザイン系の店が多いショッピングセンターです。

プロパガンダ（Propaganda）、Good Job、Loft等、雑貨や家具の店が多く、小粋なタイ土産を買うのにおすすめです。

洋服に関して言うとバンコクの中でDIESEL、REPLAYの品揃えが充実しているのが、このサイアムディスカバリー店です。

待ち合わせするなら４階のスターバックスが便利です。サイアムディスカバリー、サイアムセンター、サイアムパラゴンの通りは地上に適当な店がないので、待ち合わせはビルの中のほうが便利。このスターバックス前には、隣のサイアムセンターに接続する連絡橋があるので、サイアムセンターやパラゴンで買い物している友人が楽に来ることが出来ます。

Historic Red House and Tian Hou Gong in Ximending - 西門町にある西門紅楼と台北天后宮

In Taipei city, there are two historic spots near Hotel Puri（璞麗商旅）. One is "Historic Red House", an old public market. Another is "Tian Hou Gong", a temple dedicated to Mazu (or Tianhou).

Ximending town is famous for trendy town. But going to these historic spots is a fun.

台北、ホテル・プリ（璞麗商旅）の近くに「西門紅楼（シーメンホンロウ、Historic Red House）」という、昔の公営市場跡があります。またその近くには、海の神様を祀った「台北天后宮」があります。

西門町はヤングのタウンと言われますが、散歩ついでに、こんな台北らしいスポットを訪れるのも楽しいです。
