チャイナタウン・コンプレックス・フード・センター〜中華街の有名なホーカーセンター：Chinatown Complex Food Centre - famous Hawker Centre at Chinatown in Singapore

チャイナタウン・コンプレックス・フード・センターは、シンガポールに幾つかある有名なフードコート（＝ホーカーセンター）の一つです。「ホテル 1929」から徒歩３分です。

地元の人達が実際に住んでいる団地（マンション？）の２階にあるフードコートで、料金が安い！かつ店が多い！数十軒はあるんじゃないかなあ。シンガポールの人達は食事は自分で作らず、家族でここまでやってきて食べています。

メニューは写真が付いているので、指をさせばオーケー。外国人だからといって、ぼったくる店もありません。先にドリンクを買って、その後食事を買うと、食器をひっくり返す心配がありません。

美味しい店かどうかの見分け方は、ズバリ店の前の行列の長さです！

旅行の基本は基礎体力。チャイニーズに負けずに元気いっぱい食べてエネルギーを補給しよう。

Chinatown Complex Food Centre is one of famous Hawker centers in Singapore. Just 3 minutes' walking from "Hotel 1929".

The food court is located on the 2nd floor of mansions where local Singaporean lives. Singapore people don't cook by themself. They come to this 2nd floor, and eat with family. So many restaurants and so cheap price !

Almost all menus provide pictures. Restaurant staffs don't fleece even foreigners. So, you just point it out for your order. Ordering your drink before buying a main food is better, to avoid plates accidentally knocked over.

If you see a long line, the stall is a delicious and popular restaurant.

For travelling, the most important thing is basic physical fitness. Like energetic Chinese, let's eat a lot !

オーチャードロードで安食堂が集まるカッページプラザ - Many cheap restaurants at Cuppage Plaza in Orchard Road

オーチャードロード沿いのショッピングモールやデパートには、レストランがテナントとして入っているビルも数多くありますが、洒落たレストランが多く、そうしたところは料金も高くなります。ショッピング街のため、シンガポールで有名なホーカーセンターもほとんどありません。

そんな中、オーチャードで、普通に軽く食べたり飲んだりする所として便利なのがカッページ・プラザです。

オーチャード道路から少し奥まったビルに、ずらりと食堂街が並びます。雰囲気的には、昔の秋葉原の駅前食堂や池袋の地下道フードコートの感じ（笑）。まったくもってお洒落ではないけれど、一人旅だったり、軽くビール一杯ひっかけたりするのに便利です。「王将」など、けっこう和食のレストランも多いです。

ホテル・シュープリーム・シンガポールからも近く地元のシンガポール人もたくさん利用しています。

In Orchard Road, many shopping arcades and department stores offer many restaurants. But such restaurants are usually swanky. And the price is little bit expensive. Hawker Center is seldom in this road.

So you try Cuppage Plaza.

This building behind Orchard Road offers many casual restaurants. The atmosphere is like food stalls. Don't go to this building with formal clothes. But if you are a solo traveler, or if you want to just drink a beer, these small restaurants are useful. And also, you can eat at many Japanese restaurants, like "Ohsho", a very famous Japanese dumpling restaurant.

Cuppage Plaza is very close from Hotel Supreme Singapore. Many Singaporean visit this building.

シンガポール大戸屋で家庭料理を - Authentic Japanese home cuisine by Ootoya

海外でよく見かけるある和食レストランは、寿司、すき焼き、天ぷら、しゃぶしゃぶ・・・等、高級な和食が多いです。しかし日本人が毎日そんな高いものを食べているわけではありませんよね。日本料理には料亭料理と家庭料理と２種類ありますが、親しみやすくお財布にも優しい家庭料理は、海外ではなかなか採算があわないめ、そうした料理を食べる機会は少ないといえます。

But almost all Japanese people eat such expensive food only in some special occasion. We, Japanese people, eat Japanese home-style dishes every day. The price is reasonable and the taste is more popular.

For a business, home-cooked meal is difficult because the cost is very cheap. So such Japanese home cooking is very seldom in foreign countries.

"Ootoya（大戸屋）" at Orchard Central department store offers Japanese home cuisine. This is very famous Japanese home-style restaurant. The taste is same with Japanese based restaurants'. The price is a bit more expensive than Japan. But many Japanese living in Singapore visit this nice restaurant.

Kaya Toast at Funan Digitalife Mall - フナン・デジタライフ・モールのカヤトースト

Funan Digitalife Mall near Peninsula Excelsior Hotel Singapore has many digital appliance shops. When you want a new mobile phone or PC, this shopping mall is convenient. This mall is open even on Chinese New Year season.

When you go up stars, you can find “Ya Kun Kaya Toast”. Kaya Toast is a popular snack in Singapore, sweet coconut cream spread on the bread. "Ya Kun Kaya Toast" is one of famous Kaya Toast shops in Singapore.

I ate toast with ice cream. The texture by cold cream and hot crispy bread is interesting.

ペニンシュラ・エクセシオール・ホテル・シンガポールの近くにあるフナン・デジタライフ・モールは、名前の通り、デジカメや携帯、パソコン等デジタル製品専門のショッピングモールです。旧正月の時期でもオープンしていて、覚えておくと便利です。

ビルの上へ行くと、カヤトーストで有名な「ヤー・クン・カヤ・トースト（Ya Kun Kaya Toast）」があります。アイスクリームのカヤトーストを食べたのですが、冷たいクリームと、暖かい焼いたパンの食感がおもしろかったです。
